Tutoring-Fine Art/CraftsArt and Crafts Tutoring is aimed at beginner and intermediate students who would like to gain confidence to create their own artwork and crafts, and those who want to gain new skills. Beginners will have an introduction to a range of different materials, disciplines and styles in art. They will explore the basics and techniques of drawing in dry media, inks, mixed media and painting. Students will learn about different surfaces to create on and a variety of papers. Intermediates will be encouraged to develop their skills and explore project-based work. An example thereof could be, choosing one technique learnt and applying it to a more complex project, such as, dying fabric with dyes, sewing those fabrics into clothing or other useful items and then combining that by printing or drawing an image directly onto said fabric.
Tutoring sessions are one-to-one or in groups of 3-5 students and are held at the artist's studio, Studio 15 at Art on 30th in North Park San Diego. |
Mentorships Programs are open twice a year.
The Mentee will present what they wish to focus on for a timeframe of three months. Mentor and Mentee will discuss current skill level, critique and review portfolio and work on improving skill and presentation.
